Logo Design

I always wanted to have my own ice cream shop since I was a little girl. Therefore, for this logo process, I decided to design a unique logo for my own ice cream shop. The ice cream on the left represents the purpose of the shop and the texts on the right is creative since scoop could mean “scoop of ice cream”, so it is easier for consumers to understand. the logo is colorful and lovely but not too complicated, so it may attract more customers. I searched ice cream shop logo on google images, and it gave me many ideas of how to create my own logo. From my point of view, my logo effectively represents my topic and function of the shop and it also has my own name in it.

In order to make this logo, first of all, I set my logo sketch drawing as background so I can clearly see the shape and text of the logo, I clicked tool and selected pen on top of the left corner to sketch the shape. I sketched the shape and texts based on the background so the logo could look exact the same to my original logo sketch. After that, I removed my background and left my sketch along on illustrator. After these steps, I used marker and pen tool to adjust the shape and line a little bit clearer. I avoided small text and greatly different proportions for this logo design. And I didn’t use any images for this logo. I made sure this logo could work in both large and small sizes. In addition, I adjusted the positions and curves of the logos to make it look better. For the apple on top of the ice cream, I just simply used the shape tool. And after I finished with the shapes and words, I made sure that they are all closed shapes so I could use the tool paint to color them.

One of the difficulties I encountered making this logo is that it was pretty hard to use my laptop to sketch the shape, so the logo isn’t detailed enough. It took me a long time to sketch the shape of my logo because I want the size and text could be exactly the same to my original design, therefore, I adjusted a lot and did it many times.

In conclusion, I had so much fun creating this logo design project. I always wanted to have my own logo and now I have made it! In the meantime, I learned how to use illustrator to create the logo. It was very hard to sketch the shape and adjust the line, but I did it based on what I have learned in the illustrator tutorials.

First of all ,I think your idea of your logo is already very strong because this is a logo for your ideal dream business. Moreover, I like the way you paint your logo because you have effectively use a lot of color in your design to create a friendly and favorable atmosphere to the audience, which is energetic to move the audience’s heart. In my opinion, it better for you change modify the font of your text to create a stronger visual effect. For example, I do think you can ”Bold” your text in order to create a thicker lines for your words .I am sure the presentation will be a lot better. At the same time , I think you can strengthen the contrast between your background and graphic pictures. As I can see your background color is a simple white color .You can paint it with some other colors in order to create a contrast to your logo. All in all ,I love your design very much.Good job!

Anyi, your logo was very appealing at first glance and seems to accurately represent your project theme. I was instantly drawn to the colors and designs of your logo. While others may have found this to be distracting, I think it adds to the overall composition of your logo. The graphics included clearly depict an ice cream cone and the text indicates this is a logo for an ice cream shop. The logo appears to have taken a lot of time to complete and looks very professional. A suggestion of mine might be to remove the purple heart after the word “Scoop” and redesign the light blue line to form a heart shape around the text. Overall I think this is a very successful logo design that represents your project theme.

    Hello Anyi,

I love seeing logos and passions that have to do with food. I also had an ice cream cone in my logo. I like the grid pattern you got on the cone, something my own logo does not have. I also like the shine and visual appeal of your cherry. I think that in particular stands out.

My recommendation to you would be to think about experimenting with the gradient tool and see if you can give a layered or almost 3D effect to your ice cream similar to your cherry. I think that would make your ice cream look more real. I almost recommend changing the border over your text to a heart shape and removing the small purple heart altogether.

Overall I enjoyed your logo a lot and I hope you accomplish your dreams of owning an ice cream shop. Maybe I’ll come and review someday as I would like to become a food writer and critic.

After reading through the feedback from the members in my group, I found the suggestions very helpful for me to improve my Logo Design Project. I am very happy and satisfied with my draft logo but still, there are three aspects I will be working on this week to make this project even better. First, I will remove the small purple heart next to my text and change the border over my text to a heart shape. At the same time, I decide to strengthen the contrast between my background and graphic pictures, because right now my background seems a bit simply as the background color is a simple white color. I am planning to paint it with some other colors in order to create a contrast to my logo. I am not sure about what color I will be using for the heart, but most likely I will still keep it blue. Moreover, I would like to make my texts bold, which is making it thicker and darker. I don’t know if it will look good with the other bright colors since it is black, but from my point of view, it is always better to make some contrasts in colors in order to give the audiences more visual effects and gain more attentions. Overall I find the peer reviewing feedback very useful and I will be starting to revise my project to make it better!

Your logo looks amazing! It’s identical to your logo sketch, which is crazy. It actually looks like the kind of ice-cream store logo that I would see on the streets. The way you created your logo was something I could have never thought of. It looks like you put in a lot of effort in to the details of the sprinkles and the general colorfulness! I don’t really see big suggestions for improvement, but I think it would be nice to play around with different font colors and outline of the word bubble. I think it would also be nice if you add other pastries to make your logo fancier! Great job on your logo, it looks amazing!
